Fleece Lined Tights Paired with School Uniform

Jeez, it sure is cold outside.  The cold temps and the strong wind gusts we've been experiencing this year are brutal.  Especially if you're wearing a skirt, right?

I've mentioned before that our daughter's normal winter wardrobe routine consists of PE clothes on two days, khakis and polo on two days, then she alternates between a few skirts and a dress on the 5th day of the week. At morning drop off, the outside temperature today was 14 degrees! And that didn't even account for the wind chill.  It's just our luck that all her school pants were in the laundry this morning and it wasn't a PE day.  That meant, the only clean clothing option for her was to put on a skirt.  Brrrr.  Thankfully, she has a few pairs of fleece lined tights to match her school uniform.

She is happy to put on a skirt even when its so cold outside because she loves those tights.  She tells me that they keep her plenty warm. They can be a bit tough to find in navy, but we now have several pairs. One footless pair  in a smooth cotton, another footless pair in a cotton cable-knit pattern, and one footed pair in a smooth cotton.  I think I picked up all of them at Sears. And while the tag doesn't specify, I think they are Joe Boxer brand tights.  They run big.  The girls size 4-7 still fits my daughter comfortably when she's wearing a solid size 7 on most brands, sometimes an 8.  We also have the next size up, which is the 8-10.  They are still really big on her; bunching at the ankles.

The only thing I don't like about them is the shade of navy. They don't seem to match the same shade of navy in any of her skirts which include options from various brands.  The tights are a brighter hue of navy. While I wouldn't try to pull off the navy on navy matching with any of my outfits for work, I am willing to overlook this color mismatch on her with her school uniform.  Hey - It saves me from having to do the mid week load of laundry. And my daughter is still too young to understand the subtlety of this fashion faux pas.

Does your daughter wear the fleece lined tights with her school uniform? I found this pair on Amazon by Leg Impressions of Fleece Lined Footless Extra Warm Tights for Girls.  It looks like they have all the basic school uniform colors.

If your daughter has a pair, where did you get them? How does she like them?

"OLLY Shoes began as a result of my own challenging shopping experiences with my family. As a mother of three kids that ranged in age from newborn to seven, I found it extremely difficult to find shoes that fit my kids properly. My goal was to create a shoe store that made footwear shopping fun for kids - and easy for their parents. OLLY Shoes was born in 2001 and has received an overwhelmingly positive response. We offer a wide variety of athletic, casual, seasonal and specialty footwear, as well as unique accessories and gifts. Classroom School Uniforms Unveils New Footwear and Legwear Collections for 2014

Classroom School Uniforms, a leading national manufacturer of school uniforms, announced it is adding footwear and legwear collections to the Classroom brand. The products will be available at retail in June for the back-to-school 2014 buying season.

The Classroom footwear collection includes five styles for boys and three styles for girls in sizes pre-school to adult. Styling for boys includes Oxfords, Slip-ons, Loafers and Trainers. Girls styling includes Mary Janes, T-straps and Saddle Shoes.

The Classroom Footwear line provides outstanding value and style, along with the "Real World Tested" quality families expect from Classroom. Using easy care man-made uppers and non-marking thermoplastic rubber outsoles, Classroom shoes are built to go the distance of a full school year. Fit and comfort features like padded heel counters and insoles, 4-eyelet tie or hook and loop fasteners and textured, slip resistant soles make these easy to wear all day, every day.

The Classroom legwear collection is a high quality, moderate cost program with a unique twist: All socks and tights are Rayon made from Bamboo, a processed fabric using sustainable fibers that is moisture wicking and helps prevent blisters. Available in crew and knee-highs, Classroom socks feature reinforced heels for durability, hand-linked, seamless toes for comfort, and are sold in a 3-pack with peg hanger. Classroom tights are a premium weight flat knit with an anti-roll waistband, sold as a single pack with peg hanger. All are available in 6 colors.

For more information about Classroom's complete line of products, call our uniform hotline at 888-593-6616 or visit classroomuniforms.com.
