Passive Fundraising Opportunity with Little Passports

At this time of year, schools and PTA organizations are looking for fundraising opportunities. In the past, I've highlighted several passive fundraising opportunities here on Uniform Mom.  Today, I want to share with you some information on a program with one of our affiliate partners, Little Passports.

About the product:

Great fundraising program include a great product. Little Passports develops fun and exciting children’s subscriptions that deliver the world to your child's doorstep. Imaginary penpals Sam and Sofia travel the world on their scooter, visiting a new country each month and send a package in the mail to your child. Packages arrive full of goodies including a letter, souvenirs, activities and online games! Award-winning Little Passports has been featured in Parenting Magazine, Real Simple’s Holiday Gift Guide, the Wall Street Journal and many more! Children and their parents absolutely love Little Passports! Our expanding line now includes a USA Edition in which Sam and Sofia visit two states each month.

The fundraising program:

Their Fall Fundraising period is October 21 - 28. They donate 15% of sales proceeds back to participating schools from any purchases made by their school's community.

They do the work!

The process will be easy, and orders can be placed directly on the Little Passports website.
They handle the orders, processing, and shipping, and then report back to you on how much was raised. All that's left on your plate is promoting the program at your school.

Want to participate?

Deadline to sign up is October 10! Contact them today at schools@littlepassports.com to register your school.

Your invite to the Adventures of Ai World Charity Cup Launch Event on 9/9/14

You might remember that back in July, I introduced you to a new children's e-book called Adventures of Ai, written by New York Times bestselling author, Craig Bouchard. The story is a part non-fiction and part fiction fantasy targeted at girls and boys ages 9-12 for the pressures they will encounter as they grow up, and incorporates subjects like art, history, poetry, music and mathematics.

The e-book also has an app.  Player scores from the game are combined to facilitate the World Charity Cup.  It is a video game competition to raise money for 20 children’s charities (see end of email for list of charities) - anyone can play to win for the charity’s country by playing the free Adventures of Ai video game for App Store (iOS)Google Play (Android) or the Kindle Fire.

They are having a launch event for the Adventures of Ai World Charity Cup next Tuesday (9/9/14) at the Ronald McDonald House in Chicago - and they will be streaming it live for everyone to watch.

When: Tuesday, September 9 at 4:30PM PT

2014 Back to School Lunch Box Hop

Do you end up packing the kids the same old boring, unhealthy lunches day after day?

Many of us do.  As evidence we can look across the pond at a recent UK study that concluded that school lunches are more healthy than packed lunches.  While this study compares brown bag lunches against nutritional standards in the UK, I think the message resonates with the lunches we, US moms, are packing for our kids too.

The study found that only 1% of packed lunches meet the nutritional standards for school meals.  So, I ask all of the food bloggers to help us out and link up their posts for creative and nutritious meals we can pack at home.

Is your kid's school lunch healthy?
